The story of their life

Born Fernando in Lisbon, Anthony first joined the Augustinian canons and later became a Franciscan after encountering missionaries who had died in Morocco. Illness redirected his hoped-for mission, and his gifts as a preacher and biblical teacher emerged in Italy and France. He died near Padua at thirty-five.
